On January 20th, nominees for the Asian Film Awards 2010 were announced and Casio Entertainment Executive Director Hiroyuki Seshita, the VFX director for the film"Symbol"was nominated for the Best Visual Effects Awards.
Launched in 2007, the Asian Film Awards has been established as part of the annual Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFFS) that has been taking place since 1977. A panel of prominent jurors from the film industry determines nominees in 14 categories from the eligible films produced and released theatrically in the Asian region in that year.
A total of five individuals have been nominated for Best Visual Effects. Other Japanese candidates include Takuya Fujita and Koji Nozaki From "Goemon." AFA winners will be announced at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) on March 22, 2010.

The movie, "Symbol" (2009: Yoshimoto Kogyo Co. Ltd. production, Shochiku Co. Ltd. distribution) is the second film directed by Hitoshi Matsumoto, and the film's VFX has been entirely produced by Casio Entertainment. The DVD is on sale in Japan from February 3, 2010.
